Acceptable Use Policy
1. Overview
ScriptaDraft is an editing and review aid for academic researchers preparing journal manuscripts. It is designed to help you strengthen your own work — improving structure, anticipating reviewer concerns, and verifying citations. It is not a content generator, and using it as one is prohibited.
2. Research integrity and manuscripts
ScriptaDraft includes built-in guardrails that shape the AI assistant's behaviour. The assistant is instructed to refuse requests to fabricate experimental data or invent citations, and to decline to draft substantive content without significant scientific input from the applicant. These guardrails are part of the product's design, not policy alone.
You should not attempt to:
- Generate research data.
- Generate or insert invented citations.
- Use the AI as the primary source of your scientific ideas.
- Submit content that breaches journal or institutional policy.
Attempting to circumvent the product's guardrails to achieve any of the above is itself a breach of this AUP.
3. General prohibited conduct
You also agree not to:
- use ScriptaDraft to violate any law or any third party's rights;
- attempt to circumvent technical safeguards, rate limits, or access controls;
- upload content for which you do not have the necessary rights to process via a third-party AI provider;
- upload content that contains personal information about third parties without their consent or a lawful basis;
- use ScriptaDraft to harass, defame, or harm any individual or organisation;
- use automated tools to scrape, mirror, or extract data from ScriptaDraft beyond ordinary product usage;
- share your account credentials with others or allow others to use your account.
4. Your responsibility
You are responsible for understanding and complying with the AI-use policies of every journal you submit to and every institution at which you work. ScriptaDraft provides editing, reviewing, and reference assistance only; it does not certify, verify, or guarantee that any output complies with any specific journal or institutional policy.
5. Enforcement and cooperation
If we become aware of a possible breach of this AUP — through your own report, a third-party report, or in the course of normal product operation — we may, after appropriate consideration:
- contact you to discuss the situation;
- suspend or terminate access to ScriptaDraft where the breach warrants it;
- cooperate with lawful requests from journals, institutions, or other authorities investigating possible research misconduct or other unlawful conduct.
We do not proactively monitor user content for the purpose of reporting it externally. Suspension or termination does not entitle you to a refund of any fees paid.
6. Reporting
If you believe another ScriptaDraft user is breaching this AUP, please report it to [email protected].
7. Changes to this AUP
This AUP may be updated. Material changes will be communicated via the application.
